SigEp and ZTA treat children to Easter Egg Hunt

On April 5 the brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon and the sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha helped brighten the season for children at the UT Martin Children’s Center. The two groups began the night before, meeting over at the SigEp Chapter House stuffing eggs. Festivities continued with the hiding of over 400 eggs on the daycare’s two playgrounds (one for the older and one for the younger children).

Once the eggs were hidden, the children wasted no time doing all they could to find as many as possible. Daycare workers and representatives from ZTA and SigEp pointed out some of the more obscure hiding spots.

Jamey Hawkins, who helped assist Service Chair for SigEP Matt Muehlberger in planning this year’s event, says that the hunt went quite well. “All the kids seemed to have a good time,” Hawkins says. “An event like this helps brighten not only the kids lives but also our own.”

Zeta Tau Alpha emphasizes leadership development, service to others, academic success, and continued personal growth to improve the quality of life for its members and the world. Sigma Phi Epsilon employs the Balanced Man Program to instill the values of a scholar, leader, athlete, and gentleman to build balanced leaders for the world’s communities.
